This is one of the most unique engagement stories we have ever received. Not only did this guy plan a romantic picnic for his lady, but he also planned a surprise she would never forget.
We always think the things we tell our guys go in one ear and out the other, but let this couple's story be a lesson to us all!
We went on my first picnic ever to my favorite childhood place. The Caloosahatchee river. He packed everything so I could relax while he got everything ready. So we picked a nice spot that stuck out into the river a bit and set up. We ate, drank and talked. Then came time for dessert.
(Cracker Jacks has always been a joke between us because when we first got together it was Cracker Jacks 100 year anniversary and they were putting diamond rings in their bags. So I agreed if we ever found a ring in the bag that it was fate and we'd have to get married) so he pulls out the BIGGEST bag of cracker jacks I have ever seen. And we continue to talk and munch.
Then I see the paper prize and steal it, as I always do. And I open it and its a picture of a ring! I immediately start freaking out trying to figure out what he did and how he did it! It went as far as the smart phone app that cracker jacks puts in the bag! And all he says is
you said you'd marry me if there was a ring in the bag.
I started crying. He asked if I wanted the real ring and pulls it out of a dish towel that he wrapped it in. He says to me, I don't think it will fit. I snatched it from him and said yes, Yes it will! He laughed at me and said I take it as a yes? I nodded eyes filled with tears.
How he did it was takes hair dryer to the seam so he could pull it apart, dumped out all the popcorn to get to the prize, pulled the real paper middle out and inserted the drawing and re-glued the prize, put the popcorn back in, blew into the bag so it was puffed up and sealed the bag with hot glue.. the picture of he and I is what I sent to ny family and friends to see if they could figure it out themselves!
Congratulations to you both and thank you so much for sharing!
