You’re a Haute Mama, So Dress Like One!

Can we please say goodbye to frumpy mother of the bride dresses? Why would you want a dress to make you look older than you actually are?

Even though this is the brides day you better believe it's about her mama too!
After all, she got it from her mama, right?!

Mother of the Bride Dresses: Where to shop and What to shop for!

Where to Shop

I can remember shopping with my mom for her perfect dress, and we pretty much completely threw out the entire Mother of the Bride section! She ended up getting her dress at Ann Taylor and it was off-white and floral, and super complementary to my wedding party!

Turns out when you cross out the word wedding when shopping for one, you open a whole new world of opportunities, and in this case, stores.

BHLDN is the mothership for Mother of the Bride Dresses. Some of the dresses are so gorgeous that I have to convince myself not to buy them every time I visit their site.

Stores like Ann Taylor, J.Crew, Banana Republic, and Nordstrom, also have some elegant dresses that are sexy and sophisticated, but still age appropriate.

What to Shop For

One of the things I can't stand is when brides (and in this case, their mamas) try to be someone they are not for their special day!

If you aren't normally super tan, why get a spray tan? If your hair isn't normally long like a mermaid, why get extensions?! The same is true for the mother of the bride. Don't shop for a dress you wouldn't normally wear.

Shop for one that makes you feel sexy and special but shows off you for you!

Now that we have covered the basics, we know you came here to see our favorite Mother of the Bride Dresses, after all, we are kind of a fashion blog too, so feast your eyes upon our Bummed Bride Approved list.
