It’s time to get fit, ladies! Sometimes we need some motivation and I love the idea of Fit Fridays! We survived the long week and now it’s time to celebrate and party! Right..? First, let’s celebrate with being fit, healthy and continue our goals. (Then we can go party) I have a great wedding arm workout for you!
This Friday I would like to focus on arms. Arms are important especially, in a wedding dress. I remember going crazy on arm workouts a few months before my wedding. You want them to look toned and you want to be happy with how you look!
You will need 3 to 8 pound dumbbells for this entire workout. If are you a beginner, or feel any pain, drop the weights. Go through the motion, and you can work your way up. Remember to stretch before and after every workout! I can’t stress this enough…BREATHE and keep hydrated! Make it count, and don’t rush through the workout. Focus on your arms and feel them getting stronger.
Let’s get started!
Aim for three sets of 15.
Grab your weights in both hands. Stand shoulder-width apart. Lift one arm in front of you, raise to shoulder height, raise the other arm to the side. Making an “L” shape or a “Right Angle” and alternate. So left arm forward, right arm out. Then right arm forward and left arm out. Slowly release and repeat. 15 Reps
Hold your weights in each hand just above your shoulders. Strand shoulder width apart and knees slightly bent. Press up until your arms are straight over your head. Hold for a few seconds and lower back down to your shoulders. Come back to starting and repeat. 15 Reps
I encourage you to use a heavier weight here. Stand with your feet hip distance apart. Hold one dumbbell with both hands. Straighten your arms to lift that dumbbell in the air with your elbows bending slightly and slowly bend the arms back in between your shoulder blades. And slowly lift back up to starting point. 15 Reps
Stand with your feet directly under hips. One dumbbell in each hand, palms facing out. Bend the elbows; bring the weights to your shoulders, doing a bicep curl. Keep your arms moving upward, and straighten your arms above your shoulders, doing an overhead press with the palms facing out. Bend the elbows back to end the move, and straighten coming back to the starting point. (This counts as one rep) 15 Reps
Stand with your feet hip-width apart as if you were ready to do a squat. With a dumbbell in each hand. Pull your arms forward in front of you, slightly bent. Open your arms and squeeze your shoulder blades together. Slowing release back to center. 15 Reps
Stand with your feet hip distance apart with a dumbbell in each hand. Your palms should be facing your body. Keep the dumbbell close to your body, pull them to your shoulders just under your chin, bending your elbows out. Slowly lower and repeat. 15 Reps
Phew we are finished! You go, girl! Now it’s time to relax and stretch or start up another workout! I love arm day, if you continue to work on your arms with this workout, you will see results. Always remember to use the correct form; you may to do this in front of a mirror for the first few times. And please remember use weights your body is comfortable..if you start out with 3 lbs that’s great you will work your way up to 8 lbs!
Doing this wedding arm workout 3 times a week will give your arms shape and tone everybody desires! Stay happy and fit, my friends!
