We’re just 5 ½ months away from the big day, and I can’t get to do lists out of my head. I’m such an indecisive person, and with all these decisions to make, you can bet I've experienced a little wedding planning stress.
Let’s not sugar coat it – planning a wedding isn't easy! I absolutely cannot wait for the best day ever (November 8!) to get here, but at the same time, I’m anxious we’re less than 6 months away. There’s still so much to do!
Planning your big day and need to stress less? Pick the big three and let some of that stress melt away!
-Choose your date.
My fiancé and I live in south Mississippi. Summertime and those hotter months? No thanks! We decided almost immediately that a cooler month was ideal for us.
-Pick your ceremony and reception venues.
I've known several people that have had to change their date or venue – popular venues can book up quickly! We got engaged on August 27 of last year, and we decided on our venues and paid deposits by mid-September.
-Find “The Dress!”
Don’t rush choosing your dress – but it doesn't hurt to start looking early and try on all kinds of styles (even ones you never thought you’d like!) A certain style or dress can look a lot different in a picture or on a mannequin than on your body! I found “the dress” in November 2013, and the style of my dress has definitely influenced several others decisions I've made.
Already made these decisions and still need some ideas on how to stress less?
-Plan a fun date night.
It doesn't have to be expensive – tonight is taco date night at our favorite Mexican place for $10 each. I’m pretty excited about it (the tacos and the quality time with my honey!)
-TAKE A BREAK!
Wedding planning is supposed to be fun. You’re marrying the man of your dreams and planning an incredible day for the both of you to celebrate with friends and family. Enjoy the process along the way!
