The Couple: Sarah and Joshua
The Wedding: The Old Mission San Luis Rey De Francia, Oceanside, CA
We all know how stressful weddings can be. Tell us a little about the things that stressed you out while you were planning your wedding
I was always worried that someone wasn't going to receive an invite. It's important to make sure you have a checklist to make sure that everyone has received an invite!
If you could go back and redo anything, what would you change?
The catering service! Good food, terrible customer service.
The owner was great at first, then once we signed the contract it was difficult to get a hold of her, she became short and seemed annoyed when we had questions. Then on the day of the wedding, she wasn't even there, she had her assistant and a few other employees to help.
The employees never stuck to the timeline, they chatted in the kitchen and felt no need to be prompt when it came to serving appetizers. When my coordinator was expressing concerns to one of the employees, she than began to complain and even cry when serving dinner at our buffet table! The.
Towards the end when everyone was cleaning up, they sat and watched and complained while my family cleaned up.
How did you deal with the things that went wrong?
I was surprisingly calm. My mom did a great job at hiding the issues from me so I could enjoy my big day!
What advice would you like to give to future brides?
Don't stress! This day is not about how perfect the cake looks or how many flowers you can have, it's about you and the start to a new chapter in life with your new partner.
Remember to absorb the love and joy with friends and family. The little things will seem silly after it is all over!
