Playful Bedroom Ideas for a 3-Year-Old

After posting the blog post and video comparing the Explorer Sofa and Nugget in our son's bedroom, I received several questions asking for more details on some of our decor in our 3-year-old's bedroom.

Here are some of the most asked questions. If you would like to know more about something else you saw, please feel free to leave a comment at the end of this post.

Where did you get the rug?

I get this question all of the time. We purchased the rug at Home Goods early last year. Unfortunately, I do not know the brand, but I am linking some similar styles with the same colors. When we first designed this room we had a darker blue rug, and I really think the lighter rug helps brighten the space and give a happier atmosphere.

Where did you get the PLAY sign on the wall?

My husband made these letters from plywood. He printed the letters with the font we liked, cut them out and glued them to the plywood, and then cut the letters out of the wood. We decided to make them ourselves since the options online were quite expensive. We originally wanted to have the word VROOM on the wall, but I'm so glad we chose PLAY instead because this room doubles as a playroom!

He also made some little Hot Wheels shelves out of cedar boards. 🙂

Where did you find the framed car prints?

My husband also created these prints. He enjoys graphic design and made these prints because our son loves cars. We actually have these same classic car prints and more in our Etsy shop. We printed them at a local Walgreens, and then used some inexpensive frames from Target!
